I thought about just sending the one word, but you know how I love to chit chat. This weekend is Meriposa, so for those of us left behind, it gives us a week to shine up our bikes for the following Sunday, may 31 for the Aztec rider's Anniversary run.
I really have not had much of a chance to talk about our "Coalition" group, so let me explain what's been going on. The Aztec Riders, Black Sheep, Old School Riders and Chapter I's Gold Wing club have banned together to start whats known as the Coalition. The directors have been meeting for a few months now and this is what our goal is.
We want to be able to offer more rides by opening up our calendars to each other, in hopes of getting people who still want to ride the opportunity to get out and do just that. We want to make new friends and spread the "destination Friendship" to more people and receive it too.
The most part, though, is we want to support each other's rides when it comes to benefiting our charities. This is why we had so many of them show up at our Mystery Ride, and thank goodness they did, or it would have been a flop. So, to do this, each club has chosen 2 rides for the year that we all must participate in and do whatever it takes to be there. My rides were the mystery Ride and the Toy Run. The next one coming up is the Aztec Anniversary Ride on the 31st of this month. Please, please, even if you cannot make it, at least sign up, but at best, please try to go. I will let you know when each ride for each club comes up so we can all be supportive. You know, last Christmas at our Toy run we had around 200 bikers there and this was before the Coalition. Can you imagine how awsome it's going to be this year???
Please guys, I am trying so very hard to keep us alive, and I really think this Coalition is going to be a great start. Since there are 4 clubs, this is only 8 rides a year that I hope we can put ourselves out there and show them we are a small, but mighty group and we are just as supportive as they have been to us. It was so fantastic to see the 3 other groups show up in great force to our ride and I'd love to show them the same force in ours, so hopefully, before the Aztec Ride, we will pick a meeting place to ride up there together. It may not be 30 bikes like the Old School Riders, but we can still be a mighty group!
Okay, my fingers are pooped now. Hope you are as excited about the Coalition as I am. Give it a chance and have a wonderful and safe weekend! Chapter I is the best!
In Sincere Friendship,
Diane
Hi everybody:
As you know, we are forming the The Coalition, which is us, the Black Sheep, Aztec Riders, Freedom Warriors, and Old School. We are trying between the 5 groups to come up with more activities to do and more fun people to do them with. We have had 2 meetings so far and for the month of March, we have 3 added activities to add to our calendars. Please do not forget that the Aztec Riders are having their first Bike Night this year on March 28. Let's try to support all 4 of the other groups, as they are going to be there for us too. Especially, they all plan to come to our mystery ride, which will certainly be a lot more money for the House of Ruth. Please mark you calendars and try to make one of these events, if not all. I hope to see you there.
